  Polesye היה אזור בו התקיימו תרבויות שונות זו לצד זו בתחילת המאה ה 20 בפולין. מרכז חשוב של חסידות קרלין. השירים של מרים נירנברג, זמרת עם יהודית שנולדה באזור זה – נתנו השראה לפרויקט מיוחד זה. אוסף השירים של נירנברג נחקר בשנות ה 70 ע"י ברברה קירשנבלט-גימבלט במסגרת מכון YIVO ללימודים יהודיים בניו יורק. עיבודים חדשים לשירים של נירנברג, בקולה של אולגה מילשצ'וק  עם מוסיקאים ישראלים מפורסמים – איתי בן-נון ודניאל הופמן.

אולגה מילשצ'וק – זמרת, נגנית אקורדיון וחוקרת מוסיקה עממית ממזרח אירופה. ילידת וורשה, בשלוש השנים האחרונות מחלקת את זמנה בין וורשה וירושלים. מתחילת דרכה התמקדה אולגה במוסיקה של יהודי אשכנז. אולגה מופיעה בישראל אירופה וארה"ב.

 Polesye was the ancient cradle of the Slavic peoples and a center of Hasidism. This unique project inspired by the repertoire of Mariam Nirenberg, a pre-war Jewish folksinger born in this multicultural region.

It was firstly recorded in the 1970's by eminent folklorist Barbara Kirshenblatt-Gimblett. Olga Mieleszczuk provides modern arrangements to Nirenberg's repertoire together with Israeli multi instrumentalist Ittai Binnun and internationally acclaimed violinist Daniel Hoffman.

Olga Mieleszczuk – Olga is a singer, accordion player and researcher of Eastern European musical folklore. Born in Warsaw, for the past three years she is living in Warsaw and Jerusalem. Since the very beginning of her creative work, she has been focusing on Jewish music of Ashkenazi roots, especially from borderlands of Poland.
