Celebration of YUNG YiDiSH: fundraiser launch gala

With joy and singing, come celebrate with us the launch of our fundraising campaign! In coperation with UCL Contemporary Hasidic Yiddish research group, YUNG YiDiSH We celebrate 30 years of creativity and culture, as well as the tens of thousands of Yiddish books that will receive a place of honor in our revitalized YUNG YiDiSH library. Come and hear about the magic and scope of YUNG YiDiSH from long-time members, volunteers, artists, helpers, andfrom the initiator and captain of this miraculous project for three decades, Mendy Cahan.

During the evening, we will hear some good words from Michal Govrin and performances Olga Avigail, Polina Belilovsky, Sharon Bernstein, David Serebryanik, Eli Benedict, Avrum Burstein, Rafael Katz, Gal Klein, Ruth Levin, Eli Preminger, Esti Nissim, and all that glory MCeed by the legendary Shane Baker!

You will have the unique opportunity to see for the first and ONLY time, a 12 minute film, made by a talented Anonymus filmmaker, about Yiddish, Bashevis Singer, YUNG YiDiSH and cultural activism. This movie will not be available for viewing later on…).
So join in and celebrate with us…
The event will take place on Zoom, and will be broadcast live on Facebook. Admission is free but we encourage you to donate at least what you would usually spend on an evening in Yung Yidish. Please tell your friends and take part in this wonderful event.

בשיר ובקול תודה, בואו לחגוג איתנו את שיגור קמפיין ההתרמה שלנו!
נעלה על נס את 30 שנות פעילות יונג יידיש, ואת עשרות אלפי הכותרים שיקבלו מקום של כבוד בספרייה המתחדשת. נחגוג יחד עם כל אותם אלפי הסופרים והכותבים אשר בטח שפתם דובבות, נריע ונספר על הפרוייקט הנפלא, ועל המתנדבים המסורים שעושים לילות כימים במשימה הקדושה.

במהלך הערב יעלו ויחלקו איתנו מזכרונתיהם על יונג יידיש וגם יופיעו: (רשימה חלקית ורנדומלית בלבד)
מיכל גוברין, אסתי ניסים, שרון ברנשטיין, אלי פרמינגר, פולינה בלילובסקי, אולגה אביגיל, רפאל כץ, רות לוין, דוד סרבריאניק, גל קליין, אברהם בורשטיין, אלי בנדיקט, כ. אסתר סנדרוי, והשחקן שיין בייקר האגדי ינצח על האירוע, וכמובן, בראש השולחן, היוזם והיושב ראש מנדי כהאן.

האירוע יתקיים בזום, וישודר לייב בפייסבוק, ויהיה אפשר לראות אותו גם בזום. לינק לאירוע יפורסם פה בדף האירוע כשעה לפני האירוע.
